School singing in our wonderful hall.

Today we had a sneak preview of the senior's items for their up and coming Polyfest. Mr Sa then taught us the beginning claps of their sasa. We loved it!

Andrew Chin

On Thursday we were lucky to have the talented musician Andrew Chin. After a short practice during the day we performed to a packed church and we were amazing.

Sacred Heart Feast Day

The rain and cold didn't worry us on Friday, it was Sacred Heart Feast day and we were ready for a day of fun and celebration.
The bell rang and we hopped  on the bus with Ruru and our big Pukeko buddies. We headed into Sacred Heart Thorndon for a lovely Mass with all the children that go to school there. We then had a special cupcake with children in room 1.
Back on the bus to Junglerama. What an exciting fun time we had there. By the time we caught the bus back to school we were exhausted.

Storm Hits Sacred Heart Petone

Wow we've got a swimming pool! yelled Tui Class. "I wish we had our togs" said Mrs Pennington, "or even our gumboots." The thunder and lightning certainly made for an exciting time before everyone went home early. We squeezed in some great writing too.

Our taoanga the korowai

One of the very special Sacred Heart Petone mums made Tui class a Korowai. This is a special cloak that we will use everytime a new Tui starts school. He is a symbol of how we promise to look after and nurture them while they are here at Sacred Heart Petone. Every Tui this year has painted a Tui that will be attached to the Korowai. At Assembly on Friday Father John came and blessed it for us, he also blessed everyone there too.

George, Louis and Lola helped to show the korowai.
THANKS PHOEBE!!!

Get Set Go Fun

Every Wednesday Vanessa comes to school to teach us some PE and sports skills through a variety of fun games. So far we've practiced balancing and dodging. Every session we have homework to do as well. Have you had a chance to play 'Snatch the Peg or Knobbly Knee Knockers'?
