Our Class Liturgy

Standing up in front a crowd and having to remember your lines is very challenging for people especially when you are only 5 or 6.

Tui and Ruru class were so amazing as they took most of our Liturgy. Our theme was from Social Justice week, belonging. Thanks to Father John who celebrated with us and the many whanau members who came too.

Michael Mangan Concert

Today we had a fabulous concert with an Australian singer Michael Mangan. We delighted him when we sang several of his songs.

Keep NZ Clean Week

This week it's Keep NZ Clean Week. Tui class joined the rest of the school in cleaning up all the rubbish round our school. We all out gloves on and had great fun while caring for our environment/.

Welcome Te Mauri

It was another awesome School Prayer on Monday when we welcomed Te Mauri to sacred Heart Petone. Nearly half the school got to stand up and awhi him as members of his extended whanau. Big sister Tialemua was so proud and he had both his Nanny's there which was so special as one had flown all the way from Australia. Te Mauri is so excited to be here and we are thrilled to have him.

Grandparent's Morning

We had a wonderful morning on Wednesday. We started off with a special Mass to bless all our lovely grandparents and other family members. The church was packed and it was great to see so many of our whanau there. It is my favourite Mass of the year and unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get a photo of everyone's grandparents but here are a few of the lovely people who we are lucky enough to have in our family.

Tongan Language Week

Malo le lei. We have been learning Our Father in Tongan, some simple vocab and best of all Soni's Aunty Seva (Uheina, Semisi and Apai's mum) visited each class and showed us some beautiful things from Tonga. Malo :)

Tui Class host School Prayer

It was our turn to take school prayer on Monday. Our theme was Belonging and we all had a part to share on our 'Church, School or Home Family'. I was so proud of how everyone was so brave standing in front of the whole school. Despite a few sound issues the school thought we were wonderful.

Fantastic Performers

We were lucky enough to have Kahurangi Theatre come and perform to our school on Friday morning. They were inspiring in their professional polished performance of rakau, poi waiata and action songs.

Then on a less professional but still enjoyable level (especially when some of the cast members are relatives of Tui class) Kotuku came and performed their plays for us.
